More than just behind the scenes.

Many transmedia projects simply provide users with more promotional material for upcoming film and TV projects. In essense, you end up with a marketing site with some behind the scenes footage and detailed character bios.

These kinds of sites miss the opportunity to connect with a rabid fan base, missing interactivity and community engagement opportunities. For Choco Finder, we took a different approach, connecting a documentary with its passionate fans, one chocolate at a time, by designing the mobile app for finding chocolate near you.

The result: our mobile app design helped drive record viewership to the TVO airing of the Semi-Sweet documentary.

Originally called Choco-locate, the decision was made to extend the app beyond the documentary and continue it as a standalone digital product.

With Choco-Locate, the mobile application design shared the latest in Chocolate via new features, specials, and events, along with a list view of chocolate shops in your favourite cities.

Each shop had it’s own content rich page featuring shop details and favourite chocolates, ratings, comments, and more.

With Choco Finder, we limited features and events content requirements, to reduce staffing requirements, without limiting the essential user experience.

This gives room for the fair trade focused user interface to feature an integrated map and shop list view, with all the shop details remaining just a tap away.
