Janice strives to make the voice of the user heard—with a particular focus on the needs of future users. Driven by the belief that understanding today can build a better tomorrow, she is passionate about inspiring others to create the future.
With a background in Industrial Design and a Master’s in Strategic Foresight and Innovation, her toolkit consists of a wide range of strategic foresight and user research methodologies, such as trend scanning, scenario planning, experiential futures, contextual interviews, and usability studies.
Janice’s roots are in the high tech industry, and her work has been seen in the hands of millions of mobile phone users. Previous clients include JP Morgan Chase, Blue Ant Media, and The School of Continuing Studies at University of Toronto.
A dynamic speaker, Janice has guest lectured on the intersection of trends and design at various universities, including Art Center College of Design, Carleton University, and Wilfrid Laurier University.
By night she is an avid knitter, gardener, cook and wannabe yogi. She volunteers at the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society as a Cat Adoption Counsellor, ferments anything she can get her hands on, and dreams of owning an alpaca farm.
